Sweet Summertime

Hi friends!

After an extended time away from our blog, we are back and ready to continue sharing our adventures with you. Summer 2017 has been great so far. As many of you know, we live in the suburbs north of Boston, MA and vacation on Cape Cod during the weekends. We are lucky enough to not only have family there, but also a boat for adventures. Brandy loves to swim. The second the boat anchors, she swan dives right in to the water. Moose, a snow dog, was timid of the ocean for the past couple of years but has made amazing progress in conquering his fear of water. He now romps up and down the beach and goes in the ocean for a good dunk when he is warm. The two dogs have an absolute blast playing in the sand. Since beaches in Cape Cod do not allow dogs from Memorial Day to Labor Day, we take the boat to a sand bar out in the ocean for exercise. 99% of the time, we have the whole area to ourselves. Here are some photos of our recent week vacation!

  1. I was really thrilled you visited my blog and put me onto yours. I am an absolute dog lover and as you may have read, our beloved Border Collie, Bilbo, passed away 2 weeks ago aged 11 years. We still have Lady, our 5 year old Border collie x Cavalier. We live near thew beach here and it’s been such a thing for us to take the dogs down to the beach. We’ve also taken them sailing on our laser and on the kayaks, although that was a few years ago now. Bilbo took awhile to get over getting his paws wet but Lady enjoys going for a swim…especially when we’re just about to go home and she’s going to be wet and caked in sandy mud when she gets in the car. We use our old car for them…the Dog Mobile.
Do do know Trent McDonald from Cape Cod? Here’s a link to his blog: http://www.trentsworld.com/
After following Trent’s blog for a few years, I feel very familiar with Cape Cod, although I’ve never been there.
    Best wishes,

  2. Beautiful, adorable dogs! 😀

  3. I so love seeing pets vacationing on the water. Alas, (and despite their water fowl retrieving pedigree) my two knuckleheads loathe the wet stuff. Have fun in the sun for us. We’ll be hiking around the city avoiding all manner of H2O. And thank you for swinging by the Ranch. We 💞 visitors, especially handsome ones like you two!

  4. Hi Guys!
Thanks for the follow. Hope you find things to amuse and interest enough to comment as I love the feedback.
    Welcome to pensitivity101!

  5. I’m so excited y’all followed Not Pretending! My granddaughter and I loved reading about you and your pups, AND thank you for passing along the Bully Bundles info! We have been searching for a chew stick that Ziva, our Bernese Mountain Dog, can tolerate. Rawhide makes her sick, and she is such a strong chewer that cow hooves don’t last long (not to mention the room-clearing odor!). I placed an order today for ‘sticks’. I hope these work for her… Poor thing has awful breath these days from not gnawing on something!
We look forward to reading Brandy and Moose’s new adventures this summer.

    1. Hi Jodi, Lea and Ziva,

Thanks for the comment! I look forward to reading your blog and I hope Ziva gives bully sticks a try. They can sometimes be a bit smelly, so we often pay a couple extra bucks for the “unscented” ones. Both Brandy and Moose seem to go crazy for them and they dont make them sick. It also helps clean their teeth! Happy chewing!

  6. It’s wonderful that you can take the boat out to the sandbar where Brandy and Moose can romp to their heart’s desire. Looks like you had a wonderful weekend. I look forward to reading about your future adventures.

  7. Hello there Brandy and Moose! looks like you are having a wonderful time frolicking in the waves. Thanks for coming over to my place and following me – I hope you like it. You will see the occasional photo of my fur baby, Tess. She is SO much smaller than you two!

  8. Talk about the high life 😉 Those two look like they are having a great summer!

    1. Thanks so much! We are lucky to have family on Cape Cod where we can visit the beautiful beaches and romp in the ocean!
